Beating the Blockchain by Mapping Out Decentralized Namecoin and Emercoin Infrastructure

Explore the decentralized domain infrastructure of Namecoin and Emercoin blockchains in this 24-minute Black Hat conference talk. Dive into the world of unofficial Top-Level Domains (TLDs) like .bit and alternative DNS resolution methods such as the OpenNIC project. Learn how these blockchain-based systems aim to provide takedown-resistant domain names, promoting free speech and allowing users to register and configure domains at low costs. Discover the potential implications and vulnerabilities of these decentralized naming systems as speaker Kevin Perlow maps out their infrastructure and discusses methods for beating the blockchain.
