It's Not Just the Qubits
Explore the intricacies of quantum computing beyond qubit count in this keynote address by Bob Sutor, Vice President for IBM Q Strategy and Ecosystem at IBM Research. Delve into the fundamentals of quantum advantage, qubit definition, and the limitations of Moore's Law in the quantum realm. Examine the concepts of superposition and entanglement, and understand why focusing solely on qubit numbers can be misleading. Gain insights into the IBM Q experience and the IBM Q Network, while learning about the exponential growth potential and the development of both large-scale and miniaturized quantum computers. This talk provides a comprehensive overview of quantum computing's current state and future prospects, drawing from Sutor's extensive 35-year career at IBM and his leadership in quantum computing education and ecosystem development.
