Meander - Declarative Explorations at the Limits of FP
Explore the concept of declarative data manipulation in functional programming through a conference talk from Strange Loop. Dive into Meander, a Clojure library that pushes the boundaries of declarative data transformation. Learn how Meander borrows ideas from logic programming and term rewriting to enable complex data manipulation while maintaining clarity and expressiveness. Discover techniques for searching, matching, remembering, joining, and transforming data in a truly declarative manner. Gain insights into solving real-world data transformation problems using Meander, understand its performance optimizations, and envision a more declarative future for functional programming. The speaker, Jimmy Miller, a Senior Software Engineer at Adzerk, shares his expertise in Clojure and passion for programming language theory in this 38-minute presentation.
