Flexible Scheme of Space Management in ZNS SSD and SMR HDD Storage Pool for Massive Set of Virtual Machines

Explore a flexible scheme for managing space in Zoned Namespace (ZNS) SSD and Shingled Magnetic Recording (SMR) HDD storage pools designed for large-scale Virtual Machine (VM) deployments. In this 17-minute conference talk from the Linux Plumbers Conference, join Bruno Banelli, Luka Perkov, and Viacheslav Dubeyko as they delve into innovative storage management techniques. Learn about the challenges and solutions associated with efficiently utilizing ZNS SSDs and SMR HDDs in virtualized environments, and discover how these approaches can optimize storage performance and capacity for massive VM sets.
